Result NPL match: ROUND 19
Saturday, 07 June 2008 APS Blue Waters vs. Cymot SKW,  0 - 1. Marko van Wyk 90min
SKW in dramatic victory against Blue Waters - Submitted Namibia Sport Helge Schütz
A last minute goal by Marco van Wyk gave SKW a dramatic 1-0 victory against Blue Waters in Walvis Bay on Saturday.
Blue Waters had a great chance to win the match when they were awarded a penalty midway through the second half, but SKW keeper Heribert Kapeng pulled off two great saves from Charles Garoeb’s shot as well as the rebound to deny Blue Waters. After a cagey start, Blue Waters started to fight for the ball and had the better of the first half. Their best chance came on 35 minutes when veteran striker Armando Pedro headed over the bar. SKW had more of the possession after the break, while Blue Waters mainly relied on some counterattacks and long balls into SKW’s box. The match took a dramatic turn when the referee awarded Blue Water a penalty on 62 minutes after he ruled that SKW defender Bobby Kaapama had handled the ball in the box. Kaapama however vehemently denied this, saying that he had chested the ball down, but the referee’s decision stood and Charles Garoeb stepped up to take the spot kick. Kapeng however brought off two stunning saves, first diving to his left to stop Garoeb’s penalty shot, and then diving to his right to clear Garoeb’s second shot from the rebound. Still the ball was not clear and in the goalmouth scramble another shot went goal wards but SKW defender Warren Neidel cleared the ball off the line.SKW made an unusual substitution after 70 minutes, bringing on defender Ralph Ellinger as a substitute for striker Frans van Wyk. But he was ective as a target man up front and in the final stages, SKW dominated the game. Tjono Jagger and Marco van Wyk both missed clear opportunities, but in the final minute Van Wyk hit the back of the net with a fine shot from the edge of the box. SKW’s players and management celebrated wildly at the final whistle, but for Blue Waters it was a bitter defeat, leaving some of their players in tears. Blue Waters are now second last on the log, two points above wooden spoonists Fedics United, who beat Oshakati City 4-3 in Keetmanshoop.

Cymot SKW U13 A vs Ramblers U13 B 1 - 1
In a very entertaining game it was Ramblers who opened the score trough a penalty when Oliver Koepp handled the ball unintentionally. SKW keeper Alex Sentefol pulled of a fine save but could not save  the rebound. From then on, it was one way traffic but SKW could not convert their numerous changes into goals. The Equalizer was scored by SKWs captain Oliver Koepp who replaced regular skipper Jörn Traeger in the SKW midfield. Outstanding for the Olympia based side was without a doubt Ileni Mheka who also played in the SKW midfield.

NPL : Saturday, 21 June 2008   African Stars vs Cymot SKW Khomasdal Stadium 0 - 0

Stars, SKW draw Submitted by Helge Schütz Namibia Sport
Cymot SKW and African Starts played to a goalless draw in a game of missed chances at the Khomasdal Stadium on Saturday night. On a chilly evening, a crowd of not much more than 100 fans turned up to watch the match.
Stars did the early attacking with winger Brouwers Litombo providing some good crosses, while Edison Muheua and Ninja Karongee were sharp in midfield. SKW’s defence held out and they started creating chances of their own. First they nearly opened the scoring from a corner but the ball was scrambled away, and then defender Ralph Ellinger missed a great chance when he headed over the bar with an open goal gaping. SKW captain Arend von Stryk finally headed into the net from a rebound only to see the goal disallowed for offside.
SKW had the better of the second half but wasted numerous scoring opportunities. Von Stryk and Frans van Wyk came close to scoring, only to see Stars’ defence clearing the ball off the line on two occasions. Stars nearly caught SKW on the counterattack, but Kapeng saved well from Silver Suriyari, and towards the end Kapeng once again pulled off a fine save from a cracking freekick by substitute Nico Andima.
SKW’s assistant coach Rolf Beiter said the management as well as the players were disappointed with their lack of goals.
“We had so many chances, but could not score. It’s unbelievable. The players are a bit down because they don’t know what to do anymore,” he said. The result sees SKW moving up to 32 points in fourth position – only two points behind the leaders Orlando Pirates and Ramblers. African Stars move up to 25 points and remain in seventh position on the log.

CSL (Central Soccer League) League Civics vs SKW 1 - 3
SKW takes home six points from the last two games. After the green and whites won last Thursday against a strong Trusco team  2 - 1 in the final minutes, it came to the CSL showdown on Saturday against Civics on Civics home ground. In the Gamams stadium it was the Buschschule Civics team who has lots of Angolan players in their side who scored first. At halftime the two teams were still on 0-0. Short after break it was Civics who took the lead. Coach Vincent Molzahn was furious and shouted at his players to show more fighting spirit. SKW started to make more pressure and pressed Civics into defence. It was Janes Janser und Denzel Aorum who missed sitters, before Lungi Nekwaya scored with a low ball into the right corner. Premier League player Günter von Hundelshausen toped up the score five minutes later just before Simon Areseb blew the final whistle to 1-3. Under the eyes of Premier League coaches Richard Starke and Rolf Beiter, SKW tested Tjono Jagger and von Hundelshausen. The two coaches invited Marko Düvel (defence) und Denzel Aorum (midfield), two young and upcoming soccer players, to the NPL training for trials. Another youngster, Lungi Nekwaya, impressed with his play the last two weeks, but on Saturday could not find yet the way into the NPL coaches books. Chilufya joins SKW Submitted by Namibia Sports Magazine Wed, 09/17/2008

Cymot SKW have signed up Civics striker Danny Chilufya for the new season.
SKW’s assistant coach Rolf Beiter told Namibia Sport that Chilufya had already signed up for the club and has made a good impression during training.
“Danny is a good player. He is maybe not as skilful as some of the others, but when he’s in front of goal, he puts the ball way. His presence is also good for the rest of the squad because he will provide good competition for a player like Arend von Stryk,” he said. Chilufya is the second Zambian player to have joined SKW, following the signing of Pirates midfielder Chepela Chepela two weeks ago. He has been with Civics for several seasons and formed part of their championship winning squad when they won the league for three years in a row between 2005 and 2007. Chilufya however was not a regular starter and played second fiddle to his older brother William Chilufya, who was one of Civics' top marksmen during this time. Last season Danny Chilufya joined Ramblers but didn't stay long and returned to Civics after a few months. 2005 and 2007. the past three seasons

Beiter announced three other new signings, namely African Stars midfielder Edwin Korukwe, defender Marko Duvel, who has progressed from the reserve team, striker Shaun Kamutuka and U17 national striker Jeremy Reinecke. “The big German defender Marko Duvel returned to Namibia earlier this year after studying at Stellenbosch University. He played a few games for our second team last season and we were very impressed so we have included him in the first team,” he said. Beiter said he was also excited about the acquisition of Stars’ midfielder, Korukwe. “He is a very good midfielder with a fine vision for the game. He is still young so we think he can go far,” he said. Beiter said they were still negotiating with several other players, including a Cameroonian midfielder, although nothing had been finalised yet.

Newsflash: Günter von Hundelshausen out for a least 3 to 4 weeks

Günter von Hundelshausen out for a least 3 to 4 weeks - Shaun Kamatuka in Namibian u/20 Squad
Last Friday Günter von Hundelshausen twisted his ankle very badly in the final practice before the Tigers game.
Yesterday it ws confirmed that von Hundelshausen slightly ripped his ligaments. Good news for the Olympia based side was received yesterday when young Shaun Kamatuka received a call-up for the Namibian u/20 National team. Kamatuka who came on as a substitute last weekend, scored his first Namibian Premier League goal but could not impress the coaches this week and had to give way for fellow striker Danny Chilufa, who came from Civics beginning of the season. Set in the starting eleven will be the two newcomers Zambian Chepella Chepella (shirt 21) and Zimbabwean Tatenda Chingarath (shirt 19). Striker Arent von Stryk reported that he is fit, and is back in training since Monday. Another youngster, Edwin Korukuve 'Guti' could make the starting line-up against newcomers Hotspurs who had an impressive win in their fist game against Ramblers. It might be also the first time appearance for 30 year old Patrick M'Kontwana who has 17 caps for the Senior National Team. M'Kontwanathe joined the green and white jerseys from Civics four weeks ago.
Neidel brace puts SKW on top

Two goals by wing back Warren Neidel gave Cymot SKW a 2-0 win over Hotspurs on their home ground in Olympia on Friday night. Neidel could have got a third when he broke clear in the final minutes, but Hotspurs’ keeper brought off a great save at his feet. The victory was SKW’s second in a row and saw them momentarily moving to the top of the log, before Saturday’s other second round matches.

The first half was a scrappy affair as both sides pressurised the other into mistakes, while neither side could get their passes together.
Hotspurs employed some long high balls into SKW’s box, but SKW keeper Sven Wiedenroth was steady under pressure.
Hotspurs’ best chance came towards the end of the first half when Edward Asino struck a cracking 30m freekick, but Wiedenroth dived full length to tip the ball away for a corner.

SKW started to dominate in the second half as they started putting together several sweeping attacks from the back. With Marco van Wyk and their new Zimbabwean signing Tatenda Chingarath working hard in the midfield, the chances started coming their way and they took the lead in the 54th minute. Tjono Jagger raced clear on the right wing and sent in a perfect cross for Neidel to volley home in the box.

SKW continued to surge forward and soon extended their lead. This time it was Danny Chilufya who sent a cross from the right and once again Neidel was free in the box to slam the ball into the net.
Lucky Kooper worked tirelessly for Hotspurs in the midfield, but their chances were few and far between as SKW defenders Ralph Ellinger, Sheldon du Plessis and Silver Zemburuka kept a tight lid on Hotspurs strikers Edward Asino and Leonard Stanley.

Before the start of the match SKW’s midfielder Chepela Chepela handed over a trophy to SKW youth player Luc Sivertsen who won the U11 Player of the Year award in the Street House 2008 Development League which was recently completed.
It was a nice gesture from the NPL referees to allow a quick handover before the start of the game, as Luc received warm applause from the 500-odd spectators at the match. submitted by Helge Schutz
Imawida’ Leap to the Top - by Carlos Kambaekwa  New Era online 24 November 2008

WINDHOEK – Cymot Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) shot to the top of the lucrative MTC Namibia Premiership and remain the only team in the 12-team league with a 100% record after two rounds of matches. The Germans shook off some resistance from league rookies Hotspurs to confirm their title credentials with a fine 2-Nil victory over the Sowetons at the SKW Stadium on Friday night.

Elsewhere, African Stars maintained their good start to their league campaign this season when Browers Litanga-Litombo’s late goal gifted the Bobby Samaria inspired outfit a hard fought 3–2 win over luckless Chief Santos at a packed to rafters Khomasdal Stadium on Saturday. Stars surrendered a two goal lead midway through the second half and were given a real scare as the Copper Town Boys exposed their shaky rearguard to the maximum and came within a whisker of a dramatic comeback with two quick goals – only for the habitual wasteful Congolese striker to spoil the party.

Across town, Black Africa scored a goal on either side of play to dispatch struggling Oshikandela Ramblers and condemned the wealthy Pionierspark based outfit to their second successive league defeat. Despite playing at home and enjoying the lion’s share of ball possession – the Tunchel Street Boys looked totally out of depth and unless management roll up their sleeves and arrest the current slump, the ambitious club could be a sure bet for relegation candidates come end of the season.

Following last weekend’s lukewarm showing in their opening match against overnight log leaders SKW – Tigers redeemed themselves as the Donkerhoek outfit recorded a well deserved 3–1 away win over giant killers Lawsure NDF Mighty Gunners at the notorious Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Civics kept their impressive away record intact after the Khomasdal based outfit saw off a stubborn Oshakati City 1-Nil at the Independence Stadium in Oshakati.

Hotshot Orlando Pirates’ fairytale run came to a premature halt when the mighty Buccaneers were held to an uninspiring goalless draw by early-pacesetters Eleven Arrows at the Khomasdal Stadium on Saturday evening. The visitors showed very little respect to their more fancied opponents and were the better side throughout the match and could have returned to the coast with maximum points had lady luck not turned her cheek on Gilbert Rwasoka’s maroon and gold outfit.

Lawsure NDF Mighty Gunners, Oshi-kandela Ramblers and Chief Santos are rooted to the basement of the MTC Namibia Premier League following a winless streak after round two while SKW, Stars, Black Africa, Pirates and Arrows remain the only unbeaten teams in the campaign so far.

SKW go top of the log - Submitted by Helge Schutz on Sat, 11/29/2008

Cymot SKW went to the top of the MTC Namibia Premier League log after beating Oshikandela Ramblers 2-0 at home on Friday night. SKW’s Zimbabwean midfielder Tatenda Chingarath put them ahead when he scrambled in a loose ball in the penalty box on 19 minutes, while Sledge Gowaseb made it 2-0 on 58 minutes when he volleyed in a cross from Edwin Korokwe. The victory however came at a cost as defender Silver Zemburuka dislocated his shoulder in an awkward fall, while Gowaseb also went off injured. Defender Ralph Ellinger was slightly injured in a motorcar accident and did not play although he was on the bench. In their absence, SKW fielded a young side with midfielders Gutti Korukuve and Shaun Kamatuka and defender Marcelle Delie all under 20 years old. They all made a good impression, while Marco van Wyk once again gave a commanding performance in midfield, directing play and initiating numerous attacks. Ramblers had a few chances of their own but could not take them and overall it was a disjointed performance. Eusebio Fredericks looked dangerous in attack but he received little support, while they mostly resorted to long, high balls, which didn’t trouble SKW’s defence much.
Their cause was further dented when midfielder Savihemba was red carded for a foul on Gowaseb early in the second half. Ramblers are now rooted to the bottom of the log, having lost their opening three matches, but chairman Harald Hecht believes that they will still come good. “Even with ten men in the last 20 minutes, we created the better chances of the game. Its just one of those things and I know its going to be very difficult to get out of there but we are nowhere near relegation material and we will end up in the top six, I can promise everybody,” he said.
Derby Time : Cymot SKW vs Ramblers 2 - 0 Tatenda Chingarath, Sledge Gowaseb
Silver Fox Zemburuka badly injured out till end of year !!!!

SKW finished the game with four youngsters and regained top spot of the log: Marcelle Delie (18 years), Edwin Korukuve (19 years), Jaques Stephanus (21 years), Shaun Kamatuka (18 years). In the 66th minute SKW lost playmaker Edmund 'Sledge" Gowaseb after a bad tackle from new Nigerian signing Savihemba of Ramblers, which resulted in a red card for the opposition. Shortly before the final whistle it was Foxi Zemburuka who had to be barred off the field into the hospital. The confusion started on Friday morning already when the coaches were informed that big defender Ralph Ellinger was in a car accident (car overturned four times). Knowing that left winger Warren Neidel won't be available for the weekend, the medical department of SKW gave a no go for playmaker Chepela Chepela, while the news came in that right winger Tjonno Jagger is ill. " We had to change our complete team and had to bring 18 year old Marcelle Delie from the start" Richard Starke (SKW Coach) said shortly after the match. Assistant coach Rolf Beiter: " When we then lost Patrick M'Kontwana and Sledge Gowaseb we had a team on the pitch which we had never thought of", while assistants coach Luck Kakuva remarked "we got the points, that's all that counts! I think the boys did well taking in consideration that we fielded a very young side and then the rainy weather took iits toll, so that it wasn't the cracker everyone expected." Outstandig for the green and white Olympia based team were once more Zimbawean Tatenda Chingarath, Marko van Wyk, Sheldon du Plessies and Sledge Gowaseb.
